The Dragoon regiments have a long and prestigious tradition in the French Army, which started early, in the days of the XVI century wars with Spain. Their role as mounted infantry was instrumental too during the Napoleonic Wars, in a series of conflicts that started to explore their mobility potential as they spanned all around Europe and beyond.
During the Second French Empire, Napoleon III tried to recreate the glory of the former Empire, and the arrangement of the Army and his Imperial Guard was a big part of it.
This classic figure From Elite Miniatures is dressed in the typical inverted colors uniform scheme, in use for the musicians of the regiments.
