Starforged Warhammer 40K Dark Angels Seal of Duty Emble of Inner Circle Brooch The Dark Angels, ranked as the First among the twenty Space Marine Legions, were the first Astartes Legion created before the Great Crusade. Many of their strategic doctrines and tactical teachings became the foundation for the Space Marines that followed. Their Primarch, Lion El'Jonson, holds a pivotal role in the long history of the Warhammer universe. Recently, the father of the First Legion has returned to the 40K universe, accompanied by a group of mysterious, robe-clad warriors—the Risen Angels. The Risen Angels are former Fallen Angels who have now pledged their loyalty to the returned Primarch, Lion El'Jonson, striving to aid him in defending the Imperium. Following the Lion’s decree, all Fallen who have not sworn allegiance to Chaos are welcomed into their ranks. The Risen Angels were formed before the Imperium became aware of the Lion’s return. Their first mission was to defeat the Chaos Warband of the Thousand Eyes, led by a Fallen Angel. Soon after, they crossed paths with Dante and later played a key role in the Battle of the Sanctified against the Arks of Omen forces. During this engagement, they assisted the Lion in rescuing the Unforgiven from the Chaos horde aboard the Endurance. Though their initial presence enraged the Dark Angels, their efforts bought critical time for the loyalists to evacuate.
