Besides the immortal legacy of Conan the Barbarian, the American pulp writer Robert E. Howard created some other fantastic characters that contributed to earn him the consideration of father of the Sword & Sorcery genre.
The most relevant of these not-so-well known characters is Solomon Kane, the XVI century puritan adventurer. His first story, “Red Shadows”, was published on the magazine Weird Tales in 1928.
Quite of the stories of Solomon Kane have the African continent as setting. On its dark jungles, were dark pre-human mysteries await, the adventures will lead a true battle between the forces of good and evil.
This tall and somber hero is described by Howard as having a pale skin, gaunt face and cold eyes, dressed in the attire of puritans and equipped with a rapier sword, a dagger, pistols and the mythical Staff of Solomon, given to him by the shaman N’Longa. This cat-headed staff was made of a wood that no longer exists on Earth and is the primary weapon of Solomon Kane when he has to fight against vampires or other creatures of the dark.
For our figure, we have tried to capture the essence of these wonderful stories, portraying him on some forgotten ruins in the middle of the African jungle. The scenery is included in the kit.
